Dry cough is a very common phenomenon seen in both adults and sometimes in kids as well. In this, there is little or no mucus or phlegm secretion along with the cough. It is quite different from the wet or chesty cough, predominantly in the level of mucus that is being secreted.

This is perhaps one of the least known triggers for dry cough. Due to severe acidity, the acid content of the stomach tends to move up the food pipe and often settles around the throat region. This irritates the pharynx and the related spots. As a result, you undergo painful but annoying bouts of dry cough continuously till the acidity level settles down eventually.
Apart from that dry cough could be triggered by some other causes as well. These include impact of specific medication, psychological condition, dealing with stress, etc.
